About

It all started with my mother’s mission to grow tomatoes. She cooked for us every day and we sat down as a family each night and had all kinds of conversations at the dinner table; but, she wanted more. That’s when she packed us up and moved us out to twenty beautiful acres in Virginia.

It wasn’t all that beautiful when we got there, but after much trial-and-error, hard work, and ingenuity – we made it an absolute oasis. She made it an absolute oasis. Now, I can’t imagine a life without the farm.

What I learned there was invaluable. She took me with her to the farmers markets where I could speak to other small farmers about their experiences; and as I traveled, I also I spoke to small farmers all over the country. Most of them take a loss year over year, struggle to get funding, or don’t want the government funding because it mostly ends in a lot of debt or sometimes they don’t even qualify.

Shopping at local markets became not enough for me. I wanted to do more. That’s why I started Little Farm Adventures. This project of mine is to write books about small farms around the United States that are not only fun to read to your kids, but also display the magic of small farms and how our farmers rarely have college degrees but yet they are so much more than caretakers, they are:

  • engineers,
  • artists,
  • entrepreneurs,
  • public speakers,
  • innovators,
  • and more.

The plan is to donate a portion of the proceeds (whatever I can manage) each year directly to small farms or to organizations that provide resources and funding to small farms; and maybe, somewhere along the way we inspire a few people to shop more at farmer’s markets, to understand where their food and clothing comes from, and to respect the hard working people who make it all possible.

Thank you for visiting, I hope you enjoy the day!

If you’d like to make a donation, we are NOT a 501(c)3 nonprofit and therefore your donation will NOT be tax exempt, but your funds will go towards our yearly donation goal which is posted on our home page. Donations go straight to the bank account with the form below.

I donate all of my book sales less operating costs. This project is just for fun for me, not for profits! You can purchase our books on Amazon instead of a flat donation. All of the profits go towards our yearly donation goal. We focus on educational project (hopefully farming or outdoors related) or funding projects for small farmers. Occasionally, we will work with there non-profit organizations to make that happen.
